When you're looking to buy a new washing machine, you'll have a number of options to choose from. How do you choose the right washing machine to buy? Here, you'll find a few tips that'll help you narrow down the long list of options to make it easier to choose from a few.
Front or Top Load
Do you want a washing machine that loads from the front or from the top? Some people have their preferences, but if you haven't owned both, how could you know what you prefer? Well, think of it this way, if you struggle to get that last sock out of the bottom of your top loader, you'll probably love having a front loading machine.
Front loading washing machines used to have issues with mold growth around the door, which was ruining clothing and leaving them filled with tiny mold spores after they've been washed. The front load machines made today don't have as much of a problem with the issue as long as you use the recommended cleaning products every so often and keep the door open when it's not in use.
Basic or Digital
Some people love all of the bells and whistles that appliances offer today, but others prefer a more basic, fewer things to go wrong model. How many features do you actually use on your washing machine? Would you actually take advantage of all of the settings and features that digital machines offer? If you are a basic launderer and don't spend much time fighting stain spots, sorting your colors, or using special wash cycles to protect fabrics, you could probably stick with a basic model and still have the clean clothes that your family needs.
Warranty
When you buy big ticket items, you want them to be backed by a good warranty. Before you buy a washing machine, read through the warranty information for that make and model. Some warranties are better than others, last longer, and cover more issues. A warranty that won't cover the cost of repairs for the things that will go wrong is pretty much worthless. You may have the option of buying an extended warranty if the manufacturer's warranty isn't protective enough.
Talk with the appliance sales person near you. He or she will assist you in making the best possible choice for your financial and personal needs. Hopefully, you end up with the washing machine that does exactly what you need it to.
